Editorial and advertising policy

This policy applies to every page and every language of Guia de Bonito.

Editorial and commercial are different things

• Editorial content is produced by our team from public sources, visits, contact with attractions and agencies, and research. Nobody pays to appear in it.
• Advertising is any space bought by a business. It is always labeled “Advertisement”, “Sponsored” or “Sponsored content”, visibly and before the click.
• Featured businesses in the directory are paid listings. They appear in a prominent position with a “Sponsored” badge. The order of unpaid listings is editorial.
• An advertiser has no influence over what we write about a tour, an area or a competitor.

Information that changes

Tour prices, opening hours, minimum ages and rules are set by attractions and agencies and change without notice. Therefore:

• every such figure is shown with the date it was checked;
• prices are presented as references, not offers;
• pages about entry requirements, currency, vaccines and documents show their source and verification date;
• when we cannot confirm a fact, it is marked “being verified” or simply not published.

Reviews and ratings

Guia de Bonito does not publish fabricated reviews or automatically generated ratings. If reader reviews are ever introduced, they will be identified as such, with dates and clear moderation rules.

Business profiles

Directory profiles may be created by our team from public information (name, category, website, address). In that case the profile carries a notice that the details have not been confirmed with the business. The business can claim and update its profile free of charge.

Images

We use only our own, licensed or authorized images. Until a page has a final photo, it shows a clearly labeled placeholder rather than an image of doubtful origin.

Corrections

Mistakes happen. When a reader, a business or an attraction points out an incorrect fact, we verify and correct it and record the page’s update date. Reach the team through the contact page.

Languages

The English, Spanish, French and Italian versions are localized by people from the Portuguese content. We do not publish unreviewed machine translation or partial pages.
