What the price includes and what it does not

The table shows the attraction voucher: admission, the local guide and, on river snorkeling tours, usually the gear (mask, snorkel, life vest and wetsuit). In most cases it does not include:

  • Transport to the attraction. Agencies charge it separately, per trip, and it goes up with distance. Attractions are 6 to 72 km from town, several on dirt roads. A R$ 470 tour can pass R$ 600 per person once transport is added.
  • Lunch, at some attractions. Rio da Prata, Estância Mimosa, Rio do Peixe, Boca da Onça and Serra da Bodoquena Waterfalls usually include lunch. Elsewhere, lunch is optional and paid on site.
  • Photos and extra rentals sold inside the attractions.
  • The Environmental Conservation Fee (TCA) charged by the town (see below).

High season vs. low season

Many attractions have two prices: a lower one in low season and a higher one in high season (July, Brazilian public holidays, the year-end period and Carnival). In the table, the gap ranges from a few dozen reais to just over R$ 100 per adult. In high season availability matters as much as price: each tour has a daily visitor cap and the most popular ones sell out weeks ahead. To choose your month, see the best time to visit Bonito.

Children and seniors

Children and seniors pay different prices at many attractions, but the rules vary: the age band for a reduced ticket, the age for free entry and the document required. There is no single table for the whole town. Give the ages of everyone in your group when you book and carry photo ID for each person. Check the minimum age first, shown in the table: it decides whether a child can do the tour at all. Age-based planning is in Bonito with kids and accessible Bonito for seniors.

Environmental fee: R$ 15 per tour day

Since December 20, 2025, every visitor, Brazilian or foreign, pays R$ 15 for each day with a tour, counted once even if you do two or three tours that day. It is paid on the official website before the voucher is issued. Children under 7, residents and on-duty workers are exempt. In September 2026 the court case challenging the fee was reopened; the fee still applies unless a ruling says otherwise. Details in Bonito’s environmental fee.

How to save on tours

There is no agency discount on tickets, so savings come from how you plan your days:

  1. Group tours by area. South, toward Jardim: Rio da Prata, Buraco das Araras and Lagoa Misteriosa. West: Blue Lake Cave, São Miguel Caves and the Anhumas Abyss. North, toward Bodoquena: Estância Mimosa, Nascente Azul and Boca da Onça. Two tours in the same area share transport and count as one fee day.
  2. Book everything with one agency. Multi-tour packages often get a transport discount, and the agency fits the time slots together.
  3. Travel in low season. Vouchers and lodging are cheaper, and there is availability.
  4. Use river beaches as rest days. A river beach costs a fraction of a snorkeling tour and is the best plan B on rainy days.
  5. Compare a rental car with agency transport. With three or more distant tours and three or four people, the car usually works out cheaper. See Bonito without a car.

Where to book

No attraction admits visitors without a voucher, and only licensed agencies based in Bonito can issue one. This is the single-voucher system, in place since 1995. Many agencies answer in English and Spanish, usually over WhatsApp. Since the ticket price is the same at every licensed agency, compare what comes with it: transport, group size, time slots and cancellation policy. The step-by-step is in how to choose a tour agency in Bonito, and booking order in what to book first.

Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest tour in Bonito?

The river beaches (balneários), especially the Municipal River Beach, at around R$ 70 to R$ 98 per adult in low season. They have no fixed group time slot and rarely sell out. They are the cheapest way to swim in one of Bonito's clear rivers.

What is the most expensive tour in Bonito?

The Anhumas Abyss. The sightseeing descent costs about R$ 997, snorkeling about R$ 1,598 and scuba diving (from age 12) costs R$ 1,898 according to Viagens e Caminhos (03/2026) or from R$ 1,699 according to the Guia Premium, per person, without transport. Once you add transport and gear, the dive goes over R$ 2,000.

Does the tour price change from one agency to another?

No. Each attraction sets its voucher price and it is the same at every licensed agency. What changes is transport, multi-tour packages and service, including languages spoken. A ticket advertised below the official price is a red flag.

Is transport included in the tour price?

Usually not. The agency charges transport separately and the price depends on distance, from a few dozen reais for nearby tours to considerably more for attractions in Jardim and Bodoquena. Always ask before you pay.

How far ahead should I book tours in Bonito?

In high season, 60 to 90 days ahead, especially Rio da Prata, Blue Lake Cave, Nascente Azul and the Anhumas Abyss, which have daily visitor caps. In low season you can book closer to the date, but popular tours can still sell out on Brazilian holidays.
